Walking opportunities are prolific here, whether one enjoys the wild, open expanses of Dartmoor or Exmoor National Parks, the coastal path that runs for miles along the North and South Devon coasts, or the footpaths and lanes that take one on adventures across the rolling green hills, lush woodland, and through charming, old communities. The same freedom applies to lovers of bicycling, horse riding, and nature lovers.  Devon is an outdoor enthusiast’s ideal playground, including the water sport loving visitor.

All around the county, there is an abundance of visitor attractions of all types, from national trust properties and fabulous gardens, to theme parks, zoos and aquariums; from steam railways and religious buildings, to cave systems and medieval underground passageways; from museums aplenty and galleries, to castles and gin distilleries.
