FENNS FARM ACCOMMODATION
Consisting of four farm buildings that have been converted into self-catering accommodation, Fenn's Farm Accommodation is situated in the Peak District village of Butterton.
Fenn's and Fogg's barns have been converted into holiday cottages and are situated opposite each other in the original farmyard. Each of these properties sleep 7 across three bedrooms. Beds can be made up as 3 super king beds or 6 single beds. There is a folding bed for a seventh guest. Combined the two properties sleep 14 in total and guests are able to rent both cottages and come together for a meal around the large extendable dining table in Fogg's Barn.
These both have wifi.
Our two other barns - Will's Barn and Waterslacks Barn - are more basic. Will's Barn sleeps 6 in bunk beds and Waterslacks Barn is a camping barn which accommodates 15. Guests staying at this barn need to bring all equipment with them as if they were going camping including sleeping bags, mattresses, campstoves and cooking utensils (but no tent).
While we can't accept pets in Fenns Barn, Fogg's Barn or Will's Barn, we do allow pets to stay in Waterslacks Barn. Please pre-arrange this with us on booking.
We love how quiet our area is - all within easy driving or walking distance to everything the Peak District has to offer.
All of our properties are in easy walking distance to the centre of Butterton where you will find the village pub, the Black Lion Inn, which serves locally sourced food and ale. We don’t have a village shop, so when visiting us you must have car access so you are able to get supplies from the local area. Leek is our closest town (14-minute drive) and has five supermarkets to choose from. You also have the local village of Hartington (11-minute drive) which has a village shop, post office, a couple of pubs, cafes, cheese shop and a gift shop.
If you like walking or cycling we have lots of routes that begin close by. The Manifold Valley is a 15-minute walk down the road and you are then on the Manifold Track where you will find Thors Cave. You also have the Tissington trail, which you can join at Hartington Station and leads towards Buxton or Ashbourne.
Our accommodation is perfectly placed to visit Chatsworth, Haddon Hall, Bakewell and Buxton. These are all within a 35-minute drive. We are also close to Alton Towers, Peak Wildlife Park and the Potteries.
Public Transport
No service into village, local taxis from Leek are available. Closest train stations are Stoke-on-trent, 14 miles, Derby 22 miles, Buxton 11 miles. Nearest Airports are Manchester 24 miles, East Midlands 30 miles, Birmingham 46 miles.
Road Directions
When entering the village from off the B5053 carry on through the village in the direction of Wetton, keep the church on your right as you go through the village. You will then see a sign for Wetton turning right onto Wetton Road. All our properties are situated in Wetton Road, you will first come to our farmyard where Fenns Barn and Foggs’ Barn are situated. To find Wills Bunk Barn and Waterslacks Camping Barn you need to travel a little further along Wetton Road.
